Hole 1 · Mulligan
PAR 4 · HCP 5
Players know what they’re in for both scenically and strategically from the very first drive.
A pond on the right in front of the tee box and another stretching down the left side have players on their toes from the word go.
Long hitters can try their luck driving over the lone tree at the end of the pond on the left side.
Having mastered the middle, the green entrance is narrowed by bunkers on both the left and the right.
-
Hole 2 · Am Schloßpark
PAR 5 · HCP 3
A long and very difficult par 5 that runs down towards the shores of Lake Hemmelsdorfer.
Bunkers to the left and right of the fairway leave little room for driving error, especially for those who prefer not to lay up.
Once on the fairway, driving over the second left side bunker is a strategy reserved for long hitters.
The green entrance is obstructed by a grassy gully over which the ball must pass.
-
Hole 3 · Knick-Blick
PAR 3 · HCP 11
A peaceful par 3 – both scenically and strategically.
The green lies at the end of a dogleg around a pond on the right.
Those aiming to get on the green in one can quickly find themselves too short, too far, or off to the right which is often punished with a double bogey.
Most conservative players prefer to lay up on the apron before chipping on for par.
-
Hole 4 · C.S.
PAR 5 · HCP 7
This attractive par 5 runs parallel to the lakeside woodlands and down through the undulating landscape of frontal moraine.
Players must avoid a solitary tree on the fairway on their second stroke.
A trench divides the green from the fairway that forces players to lay up or try their luck.
The ‘C’ and ‘S’ shaped bunkers left and right of the green are a tribute to the course’s designer, Christoph Städler.
-
Hole 5 · Nordgrenze
PAR 4 · HCP 13
Exceptionally landscaped, a hedgerow runs alongside this particularly straight fairway.
The first two bunkers lie left and right of the tee off landing zone, leaving little room for error.
Nestled before an impressive grove backdrop, the green is flanked by two bunkers on the right and one on the left.
The embankment before it rules out a rolling approach.
-
Hole 6 · Canyon
-
Hole 7 · Sichelgraben
PAR 4 · HCP 1
Players tee off from a mound down onto the fairway to begin this par 4 hole.
A gully around the 220 metre mark divides the fairway approximately in two halves.
Getting onto the green in two can be achieved with a wood or a long iron.
There are no obstacles in front of the green but two bunkers and wetlands on the right await miss-hit balls.
-
Hole 8 · Streuobstwiese
PAR 3 · HCP 17
Bordered by fruit trees with an upwardly sloping fairway, this hole appears deceptively harmless.
A semicircular ridge to the left of the green hides a bunker that can’t be seen from the tee box.
A hollow on the right side of the green draws away inaccurate approaches and getting back to the hole can quickly add a few more strokes.
-
Hole 9 · Waldkurve
PAR 4 · HCP 9
This right dogleg par 4 is more difficult than it appears at first glances.
Two bunkers positioned in the inner knee force players to think twice before attempting a long drive over the bend.
The green is relatively small and flanked on both sides by deep bunkers.
Fluctuating headwinds often make judging the approach tricky and the out of bounds markers run right behind the green!
